Jul 19 2008     Draglide Pro Finished
by Brendan | 56 Views | 6 Replies
Draglide Pro (the default Draglide theme since June) finally reached 1.0, removing the beta status and becoming the official Draglide supported theme.

Classic, naturally (since being unsupported) will no longer receive updates and will remain for nostalgic reasons on those who dare to use it.

You may need to hard refresh to have the 'beta' removed from the header. Crack open the champagne. You can also see the current version of the theme (and any other themes we work on) in the Themes help topic, just click that 'Help/Support' link at the top of Draglide.  Q

If you are following Twitter, you will see that we cleaned out the entire system today, thus Draglide should be speedy for you again and we won't have a repeat of a few nights ago.

Change of Plan
No super-homepage, we need to direct all attention to this place, the community. Any changes should be here not elsewhere.

Don't worry though, the changes we will make to the forum will incorporate what the home page would have attempted anyway. Yes, annoyingly long, but read on.

A Sense of Direction
What has Draglide been lacking since 2006 (or even since the original in 2003)? Direction. There is none.

As much as I love every member here, even Serial'. We need more members, not millions or thousands, but enough to function. Draglide has been so dry and inactive lately that even my grandparents have seen more action.

More from here...
We will announce more plans later in the week after this has been completed. You have nothing to worry about, we are not changing drastically. Just putting more focus on your guys than other projects that never end up anywhere.

Love and Kisses.  usedusedused
Jul 16 2008     New Service
by Brendan | 53 Views | 8 Replies
As promised, Draglide on Twitter is now being used, at least by Draglide and some of the founders.

You can use Twitter (if you add 'Draglide') to inform you of updates and expected downtime, if there is downtime we will post information even if unexpected (you no longer have to pester me on MSN). We will also use the service for other things including help & support (you message Draglide, Draglide replies).

http://twitter.com/draglide

Also, when you add us, Draglide will add you back if we recognise you, so you can easily add each other as a network.

Note: Draglide is public, it will soon be closed to the public and so you must have a twitter account and have added Draglide (and Draglide accepted and added you, which it will).

Also, Team Members are heavily urged to add Draglide, as it may send updates that staff need to know. It is an information/notification network and generally, staff/team need to know what is going on. If team members do not use it then you risk losing your position and any member that shows the support and uses it may get lost position etc.

You may have noticed that I've been admined. There's a reason for this - myself and Brendan are making something of the main Draglide page - it's going to be a humour site, full of articles, videos, reviews, etc. For more information, read here.

In forum related news - there may be a few rule changes soon, making Draglide more mature and generally better for what we intend to do with the main site. Other than this and the extra boards, the forums will remain the same, so don't fret (unless you play guitar).

Hopefully, you'll like what we're doing.
Jul 07 2008     Added Boards + Changes
by Brendan | 56 Views | 5 Replies
Because of a recent influx of review-type topics, we added 'Review' sub-categories to 'Music' and 'Movie' parts of the boards today. We also condensed the board system to clean it up.

This will organise reviews from discussion and possibly stimulate more reviews and better quality, adding a focus to said content (instead of being lost in a mess).

Note: We ask that Review topics actually neutrally review/critique music or films and that it be written in Standard English (no short speak, use full words, punctuation and paragraphing). Other than that, go wild.

Nothing has been removed, but we have moved some boards to sub-boards, to clean up. For example 'Activism & Society' is now in 'Everything Else', 'Introductions' is in 'Help & Support' and 'Video Games' is in 'Technology', etc.
